Homemade Ginger Shots

Homemade Immunity Shots - Save Money & Reduce Single-Use Plastic

Prep time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 10 minutes

Homemade ginger shots are a powerhouse for your immunity because they’re packed with anti-inflammatory benefits that give your body a well-deserved boost. These two recipes, strawberry-ginger and tumeric-orange, blend fresh ginger with ingredients like lemon juice, orange juice, turmeric, and a touch of agave or dates to create tangy elixirs that help fend off pesky colds and other ailments. Ginger, known for its powerful antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, fights against illness and infection. Turmeric reduces inflammation, while lemon and orange add a heap of vitamin C. Incorporating these spicy little shots into your daily routine not only elevates your health but also brings a spark of flavor that proves being healthy doesn't mean sacrificing taste. Making these at home saves money and reduces single-use plastic!

Ingredients: Strawberry-Ginger Shot

  • ½ cup lemon juice

  • ½ cup strawberries

  • ½ cup water

  • ¼ cup fresh ginger – this makes a very gingery shot, so feel free to modify according to taste

  • 2 dates

  • Place all of the above ingredients in a high speed blender or a food processor and blend, first on low, then on high until smooth. *If you don’t have a high speed blender you can use a regular blender and strain through a fine mesh strainer.

Ingredients: Turmeric-Orange-Ginger Shot

  • 1/8 to 1/4 cup of fresh ginger

  • 2 oranges peeled

  • 1 teaspoon turmeric

  • dash of black pepper - helps your body absorb the curcumin (the active ingredient in ginger)

  • 1 tablespoon agave

  • 1/2 cup water

  • Place all of the above ingredients in a high speed blender or a food processor and blend, first on low, then on high until smooth. *If you don’t have a high speed blender you can use a regular blender and strain through a fine mesh strainer.

    Notes and Adjustments!

This is a perfect recipe to put your own personality into! You can add in sweetener if you want, or not if you don’t. Don’t like strawberries? Change the fruit type: pineapple (no need for dates if you use pineapple), mango, or raspberry all work great!
